Ever since Mint dev/s discovered how many Mint users were behaving so
'retro' in their updating, they've been working on strategies to 'aid'
the user in doing updates w/o 'abusing' the user in terms of 'updating
the hell out of them' (or even 'notifying the hell out of them')

Amazing, did they solve the 15 year old problem with logging in after
the system was in sleep mode?

Let me guess.... :-)
I am really the only one who finds this beyond stupid and silly?
What's the point of new releases without ever fixing problems?

I bet that you still cannot shift the desktop icons from left to right elegantly (like Plasma 5).

No it's not a deal breaker but it niggles.

As we say about (linux/mac/win) linux is not windows/mac; mac/win is not
linux.

Cinn (XFCE/MATE) is not KDE; KDE is not Cinn/Mate/XFCE.

I'm a big fan of KDE, tho' my everyday driver is Cinnamon.

I also understand and accept the Mint strategy of not going/ including/
that way.
