In the finder you can select "Connect to server", enter a vnc address with
an apple id (like "vnc://someappleid@xyz.com") and the computer that is
registered with that apple ID pops up a dialog asking to accept or reject
or block the incoming request.

Very handy for supporting friends and in-laws.

Problem is: when someone accidentally clicks on "block".
I could find no place where that block is stored and how to remove it.
(Googled for about an hour)

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Wouldn't this be an issue with the VNC client on the computer holding
the block?

It may be as simple as removing the related files from user library
applications support or other areas where related files are stored.

VNC s/w is finicky in my experience - though I haven't used it in
several years.

Not sure. The block might as well be on Apples Servers since the caller is
blocked for the Apple ID and that could be used for several computers.

Usually it works great, but in this case I´m stumped.

Found it:

on the iPhone go to settings->phone where you find blocked contacts and can
unblock them.

Easy once you know it :-)

(Not sure if there exists a possibility to unblock on macOS but the above
is good enough for me)

On macOS, they are available at FaceTime > Preferences > Blocked.
