Reciprocating engine efficiency tops out at 35%. Gas turbine
bottoms out at 45%. Turbine-electric keeps the turbine in ideal
range. Ships use them.

I've killfiled the andy troll. Absolutely no contribution to anything from
him. I'm on the verge of KF'ing "Rod Speed" as well. Note that these
anti-s, pretty much by definition, have nothing to contribute. All they
can do is stamp their feet and deny, deny, deny that there is any problem.
All they are doing is saying "I don't care; I'll go down with ship before
I'll admit that I'm wrong."

Now, that said, given the age of some of these guys, their attitude may
actually make some sense. Given their advanced age, they are certainly too
old to do anything about it (i.e., contribute to the solution), and they
are too old to change their personal habits. But, more importantly, they
are old enough that they can be reasonably sure that they will be dead
before the s**t really hits the fan. In fact, I'm not nearly as old as
some of these guys, but I'm already old enough that I can at least hope (if
not assume) that I'm dead before it hits it.

Anyway, about the only posters who've made this thread worth still reading
are "Chris" and "Siri". Most of the rest just seems to trading insults.
I'd strongly suggest that we stop responding to the obvious Trumpist trolls.
