Please also note that quite recently a person by the name mentioned
here recently and with the homepage mentioned here recently appeared
in "comp.lang.lisp" and said that he never operated an NNTP server.

So, it is possible that the person who ran AIOE has another
last name than the last name given here recently or there
are two different persons with the same name.

No, the name it's correct. Paolo Amoroso it's a criminal lawyer, living
and working on Rome, Italy. I know him personally, and I also have his
telephone number. But I haven't heard from him in months.

spams; but "amoroso" may be a common surname used in "alt.free.newsservers"
discussions about the absent usenet news server operator of "nntp.aioe.org"

mea culpa . . . after the popular news server nntp.aioe.org/news.aioe.org
stopped working (~january 2023), rumors began to circulate that the admin
might've died or whatever . . . likely a simple case of mistaken identity

Would you be so kind (and annoying) to give him call to tell him that
there annoyingly curious people at comp.lang.lisp and
alt.privacy.anon-server who would love to get an official statement as
to the technical fate of the aioe.org great NNTP server he used to so
zealously run before it went totally dead?
