If I connect the trackpad to the iMac with a USB/Lightning cable - the
Mac BT status shows the trackpad charging ( ↯ ). Good.

If I connect the trackpad to a separate charger (wall wart), there is no
↯ symbol displayed on the Mac. But after a while the % of charge goes
up. Great - but would be nice to know it is charging - I guess it only
sends that status via the wire or the Mac determines it from its side...

Keyboard - same.
