It's obvious you are an ignorant troll, but your lack of knowledge
shouldn't infect other people who know Steve Crook's server "can" be used
as a mail-to-news server, but most of the time it's NOT used that way.

For others reading this, what happens with aioe in recent days are the
messages are simply lost - but - with mixmin - they were all queued up.

Steve is (re)sending _all_ those messages that queued up as we speak.

het moet minimaal TLS 1.0 zijn. SSLv3 is deprecated sinds 2015, en het
TLS 1.0 protocol is al uit 1999.

openssl library uit het jaar kruik. Maar goed, die wil je ook niet
gebruiken want er zijn veel betere alternatieven (SpotWeb bv).

Google eens naar "stunnel", je kan dan "stunnel" plaintext laten
luisteren op localhost:119, en remote laten connecten naar
usenet.xs4all.nl:563 over TLS. Je mesnews client vertel je dan
te connecten naar localhost:119 zonder SSL.

What kind of SSL/TLS versions does that use? We no longer accept SSLV3,

mesnews ----- 127.0.0.1:119 --------- stunnel ------- news.mixmin.net:563

STunnel then handles the SSL/TLS protocol issue.

Also note that, there can be a certificate issue with Mixmin.
It is not guaranteed that during every day of a three month
period, the certificate on the server has not expired.

If Mixmin uses port 119, we would not need a bodge to use it, but
port 119 is not offered and only 563 is offered (as far as we know).
The server is not exactly configured as an auto-mat, with self-help
web pages.

I just checked, this way:

Thunderbird ------- news.mixmin.net:563

and was able to pull messages, so I can at least read it now.
This means certificate working and so on. Thunderbird is available
for Windows or Linux.

This is true about mixmin that the certificate expires suddenly every once
in a while, and that an older news client won't directly support the certs.

If someone wants to use an older newsreader that doesn't support the latest
encryption, here's my stunnel.conf which has been working ok for months.

[mixmin]
client = yes
accept = localhost:11563
connect = news.mixmin.net:563
CAfile = ca-certs.pem
verifyChain = yes
checkHost = news.mixmin.net
OCSPaia = yes

The news client needs to be set to the same arbitrary port.

I don't know actually what all that stuff does.
I just copied it from here long ago.

But I know it works for mixmin.
And I don't use the mail to news gateway someone said was required.

I don't even know how to use a mail to news gateway.
How would anyone use the mail to news gateway to mixmin anyway?
