Hi.

We have been using the ACMELDAP kit for external login
authentication on our Alpha servers for some time (months).
Last update was the 1B patch applied the 17 oct.

Since we started we have had occational dumps of the
ACME_SERVER process. It restartas automatically but the users
get an error message and there is a approx 5 sec delay before
that can try to login again. This is currently holding up the
roll-out to all users. We have an approx 10 user group at the
moment using LDAP against AD for logins.

We have had a support case araound this with VSI since early Sep.
During this time the 1B kit arrived (30 Sep) but it didn't help.

Now, I'm just interested in if anyone else is using LDAP
password lookup aginst some AD server envionment. ANd if so,
if there were any issues.

Regards, Jan-Erik.

We're using it, but not on Alpha, and haven't had any problems with it.
You should also do "prod show hist *ldap*" and make sure you have the
latest OpenLDAP, which looks like it hasn't changed since February.

OK, sorry...

I think that
$ prod show hist *ldap*
---------------------------- ----------- ----------- --- -----------
PRODUCT KIT TYPE OPERATION VAL DATE
---------------------------- ----------- ----------- --- -----------
VSI AXPVMS ACMELDAP V2.0-1B Full LP Install Val 17-OCT-2021
VSI AXPVMS ACMELDAP V2.0-1A Full LP Remove - 17-OCT-2021
VSI AXPVMS ACMELDAP V2.0-1A Full LP Install Val 05-SEP-2021
VSI AXPVMS LDAP V2.4-57A Full LP Install Val 05-SEP-2021
---------------------------- ----------- ----------- --- -----------

I find a mail about something called "VMS842L2A_LDAP-V0300". The question
is if that "V2.4-57A" and "V0300" correlates in some way...

I also find some mail about a kit called "VSI-AXPVMS-LDAP-V0204-59A-1".

I think I asked VSI and the reply was that there was no major change
from 57A to 59A... But why not? Could test on our test system...

Thanks for your pointer and interest.

Jan-Erik.
