Petty that I have to use bloated Apple libraries for matrix
calculations, I even don't know if they made their modificaton
of gas to assemble extension instructions.:P
Why they hide instructions?

It has to do with the terms of their architecture license agreement from
ARM.

ARM really, really doesn't want the ARM ISA to be forked. But they'll still
allow extensions as long as you keep them to yourself.

It's probably also for forward compatibility. Future versions of the
M1 will implement all of the documented instructions, but not
necessarily the undocumented ones. If the undocumented ones are only used
in Apple's libraries, they can update the libraries in future OS versions while
application binaries stay the same.

Yuck.

So much for a cornerstone of the scientific method, reproducability.

I would consider that a good reason _not_ to use Apple for
scientific work.

This guy seem reverse ingenered https://medium.com/swlh/apples-m1-secret-coprocessor-6599492fc1e1
"The Secret Apple M1 Coprocessor Developer Dougall Johnson has through reverse
engineering, uncovered a secret powerful coprocessor dubbed AMX: Apple Matrix
coprocessor inside the M1 chip."
So they sold me CPU, but most important part they made secret?
