I'm impressed by how unintuitive some things are on a smartphone/cellphone.

Android 11, Samsung Galaxy S10e.

Playstore. I just downloaded 5 common programs, Amazon, eBay, McMaster,
Chewy, Walmart...

Where the hell are they?

I have only one screen of apps, so it's not like they can be hiding in there.

Could hiding my Playstore downloaded apps be punishment for unchecking all of
the Samsung add-on applications during phone set up?

Every one of them is right there in Settings > Apps... "installed".

If I'm ever bedridden, I will have SO much fun playing with this thing...

They show up in Settings > Home Screen > Hide Apps, but there are no apps in
that list. Apps that are already hidden (who knows where) can be hidden!

I got it. Swipe on the apps screen to show another screen with the downloaded
apps.

And use the setting to place downloaded apps on the Home screen.

Thanks to any replies that might be in the queue.

With most launchers, it's optional to create an icon on the home screen
for each app installed, if you have that turned off, then they will only
appear in the app drawer ... usually swipe up from the bottom to see it,
if you want an icon on the home screen, drag from the drawer to an empty
spot on the home screen.

In addition, there are quirks I haven't figured out yet myself in some
launchers with respect to installed apps appearing instantly on the
homescreen after being installed.

For me, some show up; but most do not.
I haven't been able to figure out myself which is which, nor why.

Luckily finding the app after having just installed it is as easy as an
upward swipe and then a tap on "Recent apps".

While I rarely update an app, I even resorted to the unusual ploy of
updating my free nova launcher, just in case it was a launcher bugs.

And yes, I have the nova specific setting set to add apps to homescreen.
nova settings > Home screen > New apps > Add icons to home screen = yes

The new nova 7 is an abomination compared to the old nova.
And you can't directly downgrade (you have to uninstall & reinstall).

As an example of the abomination that is nova 7, it loses all your custom
icons! Why? It should be aware people make their own app icons.

As another example, the dock enlarges by a lot (it's no longer neat).
I was sorry that I tried to solve the problem by updating an app.

Updating apps almost never works to solve a problem.
Sigh.

That doesn't appear on my Galaxy S10e.
