Initialization files are compiled into the executable.
For more information, see GS_DOC:Use.htm.
Please report bugs to bugs.ghostscript.com.

The only thing missing is the OCR device as that is written in C++ and
won't compile using the currently available VMS C++ compilers.
(It may be that I am chomping at the bit a little bit awaiting the
completion of the compiler work currently being furiously worked on at VSI).

Many thinks for that. I need to upgrade. :-)

What is the status of GV?

If you want to port gv, I have been applying fixes and making small enhancements for Linux at https://github.com/william8000/gv
If you send a pull request for VMS patches, I would apply them.
The repository still has gv/src/descrip.mms and as far as I know, none of the VMS-specific code has been removed.

Thanks Mark, but still a little disappointed you only released the
binaries and not the source code, like the previous releases. Especially
this package you probably want to compile different in Europe, because
the different standard paper sizes.

Personally, I find it a hard to complain over something I get for free. :-)

But if there are tools like pdftops (that, if I understand correctly, was
included in the previouse PCSI based kits) even in this 9.55 kit, that they
