Just saw https://vmssoftware.com/docs/VSI_Webinar_March_2022.pdf and
made a few notes.

Push of SQLRelay. Makes sense - database access is important
for a platform.

Push of WebUI. I am sort of split here. Yes - having a web GUI
may convince some PHB's that VMS is uptodate - and in cases
where some random office person inherit the duty as VMS system
manager it may be useful. But most VMS system managers
are perfectly able to work command line and the general
system management industry trend is command line (bash, Python,
PowerShell, YAML config files etc.).

Push of RabbitMQ for integration. Makes sense - unless one
is a pure Java shop or a pure IBM shop, then that is a very
obvious choice.

Java on VMS I64 will stop at version 8 due to C++
compiler requirements of newer versions. VMS x86-64
will get 8 and later version (I assume later means
17 as that is latest LTS version).

PHP 8 on its way.

RMS CDC sounds very interesting.

Splunk integration that supposedly would be easy to
integrate with other products in that category. Good
because such integration may be a mandatory requirement
in some IT environments.

Tool that can convert DECforms applications to
HTML 5 web application (based on React). Interesting.

At the end of this presentation, a picture of one of the development
clusters in Sweden is given. Does this cluster have any shared storage?
If so, how is it implemented?

OVMS X86-64 supports MSCP served disks, cross-node shadow sets, and cluster common fiber channel disks.

I have a two clustered integrity systems and a ProLiant DL380 Gen9 system all connected to the same FC SAN array (DELL/EMC VNX 5500). They can all cluster mount the FC disk LUNs. :-)

I am guessing that you are running VMS on the DL380 bare metal.

The development cluster had virtual x86 instances. I meant to ask if
those virtual instances had any shared storage with the non-virtual
instances. If it is all MSCP served, that's one thing. If it is
anything else, I would really like to know.

Does "Appendix B. Creating a Shared, Simultaneous-Access Disk Between
Two VMware Virtual Machines" in the 9.2 installation guide shed any
light on the subject?
