What's NOT lost on the "bashers", nospam, is you can't keep your excuses
straight. First you say it's additive, now you say it's subtractive.

You can't keep your excuses straight for Apple fucking the customer.
Again.

Apple _never_ has your best interest in mind, nospam, _especially_ when
Apple is removing functionality inexorably, year after year, from the
iPhone.

It's a key component of Apple's strategy to _remove_ functionality.
It's never done for you. It's _always_ done to increase Apple's profits.

Hehhehheh... first you said it was only additive, and now you claim it's
not too badly subtractive... and yet... you claim nobody but you
understands?

Methinks you don't have enough of an IQ to come up with a better excuse.

It's obvious what Apple is doing which I predicted Apple would do for
years, and which Apple has proven me correct year after year after year.

Apple decontents iPhones to restrict the choices the customer has.

Each time, Apple makes up a new excuse but the reason is always the same.
Profits.

By controlling your options, Apple controls their profits.
And yet you think only you understands what Apple is doing, nospam.

How can removing what you already have be good when Apple could have
provided both if they wanted to add to the capability of the iPhone?

So you think that every PC sold today—laptops included—should have a
3.5" and 5.25" floppy drive?

Because how can removing what they already had be good...

....right?

Yeah man. Dell/Lenovo/HP/everyone have been "decontenting" PCs for
decades to restrict the choices the customer has. Each time,
Dell/Lenovo/HP/everyone makes up a new excuse but the reason is always
the same. Profits.

Where are the 3.5" floppy drives? 5.25" floppy drives? 8" floppy
drives? CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drives? Serial ports? Parallel ports?
Keyboard port? Mouse port? 9 pin VGA connector? Reset button?
5.25" hard drives? 14" hard drives? S-100 slots? Ultrasonic File
Transfers?

By controlling your options, Dell/Lenovo/HP/everyone controls their
profits. And yet you think only you understand what
Dell/Lenovo/HP/everyone are doing, nospam.

Hey iTroll Kiddies. Yes, this is how GD stupid you sound.

You always bring up that floppy disk argument every time something useful
is removed from the iPhone that you think is not needed and not wanted.

It's like you can't think of any other argument for whatever it is that
Apple removed except to say nobody wanted it and nobody needed it.

It doesn't matter to you what Apple removed.
Your argument is always going to be nobody needed it and nobody wanted it.

You bring up a floppy it's really the only thing you ever understood.

How about serial ports?

Parallel ports?

Ethernet ports?

Things change.

You're (probably) old enough to read that now.

What doesn't change is you use the same incorrect argument that everything
Apple removes (no matter what it is) was not wanted & not needed by anyone.

That's not "why" he brought it up. He brought it up as a last absurd
example after the trolls keep repeating the same nonsense over and over
again. iPhone dropped the 3.5mm jack a long time ago. The world has
moved on. Never had SD cards or changeable batteries. But the trolls
keep banging on that. Sheesh!

Apple have long been amongst the first to drop peripherals or features
that are "dated" and to be surprised that they're changing things going
forward is pretty silly.

Most of all for something like a mute switch - sheesh!

They are removing the switch and replacing it with buttons. Buttons don’t
provide a visible indication unless they can be latched physically.

the rumour is that the physical mute switch will be replaced by a
haptic button (singular) which can be configured to *also* do a variety
of other things *in* *addition* to mute. that's an *enhancement*.

too bad there isn't a screen that can show status icons.

oh wait...

You always repeat that "nobody wants it" & "nobody needs" floppy disk
argument each time you defend Apple for not providing desired features.

Apple has run out of useful new features to provide so they just change
useful old features to make it seem like you’re getting enhancements. At
the same time they provide extra new hardware to buy in order to get the
same functionality back.

the evidence supports the opposite.

no, they add new hardware for new functionality.

it doesn't make sense to add new hardware for the same functionality
without any additional benefit.

Evidence?

You mean the lack of a functioning FM radio or the crippled Qualcomm modem?
Or do you mean Apple removing the industry-standard versatile 3.5mm jack?

Maybe you mean the lack of an sd slot for portable storage (which there
isn't any other viable solution known to smartphones than that sd card).

Or, by "evidence" do you mean the loss of the correct charger in the box?
Or maybe, by "evidence" you mean the laughably puny substandard batteries?

What is it, exactly, you mean by evidence of Apple removing functionality
so that Apple can better control the available options remaining to you?

It doesn't really matter what insane excuses you can fabricate for each of
the very many sequential losses of rather critical functionality, nospam.

Whether it's courageous, or green or nobody wants it and nobody needs it.

What matters only is Apple's strategy is obvious to all but to you, nospam.

We don't know what they're doing yet.

We have a rumour and a bunch of silly little trolls saying that x + 2 =
infinity.
