good evening to the group.

following this tutorial

https://www.reddit.com/r/slackware/comments/t2dmyp/booting_slackware_150_from_mdraid_under_uefi/

I'm trying to install slack current 64 on a raid system.
however upon reboot I get that /dev/md2 cannot be mounted under /mnt ,
which is strange since /dev/md2 should be mounted under / .
I think I can resolve the other errors I encounter, but this /dev/md2
error mounted under /mnt really blocks me. I welcome ideas and advice.
Thank you

Check /etc/fstab? Possibly also /boot/initrd-tree/etc/fstab, depending
on whether you're getting the mount error during the initrd stage or
afterwards. I'm afraid that that's the best I can come up with, though.
I've not otherwise done what you're trying to do. Most of my RAID
experience is with hardware RAID controllers. Software RAID I've done
only on "additional" filesystems mounted below the root filesystem.

I do hope that I've helped at least a little.

Hi, do you have any entry in /etc/mdadm.conf?

Thanks for the reply.

I tried installing slackware again, leaving the EFI partition out of the
raid. however this time too the message appears
/dev/md1 cannot be mounted under /mnt.

it's very strange. I checked all the points where the mount can take
place, and the directives are correct. How is it possible for Slack to
remember the mount point used during the installation?

What does /etc/fstab have for this filesystem? How about the fstab used
by your initrd? Folks can't help if you don't provide more detail.

thanks for the replies.
In my tests I followed the instructions in this link:

https://www.reddit.com/r/slackware/comments/t2dmyp/booting_slackware_150_from_mdraid_under_uefi/

following these instructions, I can boot by pressing the f9 key at
startup and choosing .uefi file
slackware 15 starts booting, but then stops with the error

/dev/md1 cannot be mounted under /mnt

/etc/fstab file is correct, checked many times. I also tried using UUID
inside fstab, but to no avail. I don't understand how this strange error
could occur.
the computer is a physical HP machine with two 64 GB SSD, no faults as
it worked for months without problems. I don't know what to add.

I've not done the same myself, so I cannot comment on how well this
should or shouldn't work, but I'm trying to help. It *does* seem to me
as though there is still something missing in your initrd environment.
I've asked more than once what is in the fstab used by your initrd.
I can't see into your system from here, so without further information,
I'm afraid that all I can suggest is that you ask the article's author
for further assistance.

Did you re-run "mkinitrd" after you set it all up. Does "elilo"
need to be rerun afterwards, like "lilo" does?

you're right, I forgot. in the initrd fstab there is only one line. the
proc line. I also tried adding the correct mount points by hand, but
nothing changed. Such a large coplication seems really strange to me.
