I have a Mint installation using KDE and among other browsers, I have
Konqueror and kind of like it.

It works fine *except* for one minor bug.

If I reply to a comment on Facebook, the first letter I enter is a
double entry. It only does that on a FB reply...no where else.

No big deal, I simply won't use Konqueror for FB but wonder why this odd
behavior.

I use some on vintage PC's and Macs.

It might be because Konqueror uses Webkit as its rendering engine, and
Webkit is already outdated and no longer maintained.

This is an old msg, but since the thread is still alive...

I don't really care much about Konqueror and none about FB, but if I
were 'curious', I would be curious to check if current Konq, which is
still being actively dev/d, about 1 release a month, has the same problem.

The way I would check out a fresh Konq wouldn't be on Mint, but KDE Neon
which releases 'fresh' iso/s to keep up w/ KDE dev.

So, you could dl a current Neon .iso and boot it live and update it and
then do your FB thing and see if it is a prob.

If I were doing it, I would copy a current Neon .iso to a Ventoy USB and
go from there.

Alternatively you could do it w/ Kub 21.10, but even updated I don't
think its KDE is as fresh as Neon's.

I guess so, anyway I still use it as a file manager so simply won't use

I decided to simply not use it as a browser. It still has the problem
after all latest updates.

At any rate, I have too many other projects going so I will not be able
to investigate any further for a few more months

The konqueror which is available in my Mint 20.2 repo/s is 19.12 for Ub
focal, released sometime back in 2019, too far back for the konqueror
history page I can see to date it.

The latest konqueror is 21.12.1 released Jan 6, 3 days ago.
