I'm considering driving cross country as cheap as I can from la to nyc with
baggage (spending the winter break in nyc) which will take about a week.

Which apps do you recommend for exit services, cheap lodgings, and rest
stops?

I don't plan on doing any sight seeing unless it's already there on the way.
I'll probably sleep at $60 shacks or maybe just as the roadside rest stops.
Eating will be sandwiches & soda for the most part I think.

Since I need to bring a few hundred pounds of things, I may rent a small
F150 half ton pickup. (Do you know who is generally the cheapest with
unlimited miles? Enterprise is about $850/week for unlimited miles.)

I should have Internet on the phone which means I will usually have google
maps but I'll bring an off line map just in case and gas buddy for gas
prices.

Do you recommend any good exit services app?
Any other apps from your experience that I might need that I wouldn't think
of?
