Does VSI have DEC Ada for the AXP platform? I couldn't find it on the
LPS media set on the FTP server. I have fond memories of wrirting ADA
programs, and I've got quite a few TLB files that I will transfer onto
my AXP as soon as I figure out TCP/iP configuration.

I am not sure about DEC Ada.

But Gnat exist for VMS Alpha (in a very old version).

But even early version of an Ada 95 compiler is newer than Ada 83.

DEC Ada was available for Alpha.

The contract with AdaCore was to provide Ada 95 on Alpha instead of DEC
extending DEC Ada to support Ada 95.

See here for some notes I found:

https://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc-3.3.5/gnat_ug_vms/Compatibility-with-DEC-Ada.html

It was, but it was only Ada 83. However, it was a great Ada 83 compiler and
it provided far better debugging information than most of the competition.
The last Alpha machines that I ran mostly continued to exist because people
would want to develop Ada on them rather than on faster machines with far
shorter compile times, because of the error reporting.

Yes. Some people found this a step down but when the contract says you have
to deliver Ada 95 source, then you have to deliver it in Ada 95.

Makes sense, I have some ADA code that I wrote on the VAX and, yes
quite right it was Ada 83 not Ada 95. Interestingly enough, looks like
I have the HP Ada savesets. I might have a play around with that but it
might not work due to the HP licencing being dead on arrival.
