they don't lock batteries.

*any* battery can be used.

the problem is that many batteries overstate their health status so
that they appear to be better than they actually are. providing false
information is not helpful to the user, so unless the battery can be
authenticated as genuine, that information (and only that information)
is not displayed. *everything* else works as expected.

this has been explained to you before.

Apple makes it harder to replace batteries because that increases profits.
