The lane of traffic looked safe to drive into, but when I turned into it, my car got caught in the snow. The police were right there and helped me; I was a little suspicious, because when the police officer asked a nearby CVS-parking-lot snow shoveler to help, the wrong (or insufficient--front) wheels were shoveled even after I pointed out that the problem was with the back wheels when I tried to back up. Eventually, after towing was discussed, I got out of the car and fixed the back wheels' snow myself with my snow tool that I used to fix the windshields and windows before driving. The police officer helped to guide me with driving out of the snow trap, and I didn't need to get towed and got home quickly after leaving.

I think the Henrico county government (and maybe CVS, in yet another way?) was bad but the police weren't; I don't understand everything about police work or everything about haircuts, as another example. There was nothing definitely wrong with the officer and he was polite and not intimidating with me, which was a nice change of pace. (No weird hand signals at all, and I don't even mind those any more.)
