Are there any active groups with intelligent discussion? I am finding
weird and trollish groups. Topics are not that important. I just like to
chat with chill people about many things. Please recommend some groups
to check. Thanks.

Wow. Posting through mixman with a new sockpuppet to bitch and moan
about Usenet trolls takes some nerve, but it's nothing we haven't seen
before.

rec.food.cooking is a nice on-topic group and so is
alt.folklore.computers. Both have a few trolls, but just killfile/filter
them like we all do.

If you're interested in designing or repairing electronic devices, the
sci.electronics.* groups have light but regular traffic. You may prefer
to killfile one or two participants who are prone to trollish posts, but
overall the discussion is helpful and on-topic.

At least he hooked a couple of clueless newbies and is now probably
having lots of fun in the newsgroups they invited him to.

Thank you, sir. In fact I do like cooking and I try new recipes often so
this is a good start.

I am still learning about the filter feature. It does not work quite
like I expected but I think I have it mostly figured out.

I added the email of Mr. Adam H. Kerman to the filter with it set to
delete his incoming messages. It seems to work so far.
