have fun here in damp and cold UK. If you want a white Christmas go north. If you want a lively New Year celebration go to Scotland where the event (and the hangovers) lasts a couple of days.

Go to the islandco.com website, and try to figure it out yourself.

There are several licensing options near the bottom of the page.

The Thames Path is good. I've walked it from Cholsey to Bourne End but not yet the section from Maidenhead to Windsor. Maybe will walk that part this year but no chance of me running any of it :-)

I prefer colder weather as I can walk a _lot_ further than in hot weather.

> England has the BEST trails

Yes. Yes, it does. You can choose from a variety of trails including nice
simple flat ones or much more hilly, remote, and difficult ones.

I prefer the hilly ones myself - you get _great_ views of the surrounding
area once you have reached the top of a hill and they tend to be combined
with valley stretches that take you through some nice and remote and pretty
countryside/woods/forests. :-)

Simon.

Looks interesting. In Yorkshire, we have things like:

https://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/en_GB/trails/cleveland-way/

and

https://ldwa.org.uk/ldp/members/show_path.php?path_name=Centenary+Way+%28North+Yorkshire%29

and for something easier:

https://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/en_GB/trails/yorkshire-wolds-way/

There are also some shorter routes that still go through a variety of
countryside:

https://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/en_GB/short-routes/tabular-hills-walk/

Simon.

PS: No running for me either. Strictly a long distance walker. :-)

If you're into walking, I'd like to mention "The Kings Trail" in the
north of Sweden. 400 km. Haven't been there, but should be nice...

You have 2 trails down there in GA I really enjoyed. The one in Savannah (Pooler actually) is a nice smooth, flat, a bit twisty,
excellent training place. It's called Roebling Road. The other is about an hour up from Savannah in Braselton. It's very scenic
with hills, esses, mixed turns, and the scariest trail I've been on. It's called Road Atlanta. ;-)

Since the thread is about Alphaservers... I miss my 7660. It was a beast.
