I've specified OT as I'm fairly sure this is a Gmail issue not
Agent. Probably a setting I've configured wrongly during recent
attempts to get my emails to a newly joined Mailing List.

Take a simple example. I've just sent myself an email to my BT
address from my Gmail address. TWO identical emails have arrived
in my Agent inbox. Where do I look first to fix that please?

BTW. I see that there's only one in my browser Gmail inbox, no
duplicate. Presumably that's because Google (for some reason I've
not grasped) does not send users their own emails)? Not even using
CC or BCC? (I will test later.)

Terry

1. Compare the "Received:" headers in the emails' headers to see which
servers the emails passed through, and when. Earliest server is at
the bottom, latest server is at the top.

This will tell you where the two copies diverged, and when.

2. Check whether the two emails have identical Message-IDs.

If the Message-IDs are identical, some mail server turned the one
copy into two. #1 above will let you find which server.

If Message-IDs are different, you sent the email twice.

Thanks Ralph.

I've been putting it off but I'll try those diagnostic suggestions.
