To quote Agent's help file:

"Your (sic) may place your desks in any order. To change the order, simply
highlight a desk and drag it to the desired location in the list of desks".

I have created a new desk and want to re-arrange the order of my desks but it
will NOT let me drag and drop it to where I want it.

What am I overlooking?

Drag and drop works like drag and drop editing.

1. First click on the desk to select it. (Or you could click and drag
to select multiple desks and/or folders.)

Release the mouse and the desk remains selected unless/until you
click on something else.

2. Then click on the selected desk(s) and drag it (or them) to where you
want it (them) to go.

That's exactly what I was trying to do. Didn't want to yell for help on
something so simple but finally gave up. I kept trying to drag the desk but
kept getting the circle with the bar through it, even after I read your
instructions. Then, all of a sudden, it worked. Don't know what I was doing
differently.

And that icon basically means "you can't drop it here" (most likely
appeared when dragging past the newsgroups in the same desk -- you can't
drop a desk inside a desk). When you get to a valid location you get a red
line between the existing desks.

All that extra and totally unnecessary crap is why I stayed with the
1.9x version of Agent. Only the compulsive obsessive need all that
extraneous and confusing crap.

"Ignore subthread" was almost enough additional function to get me to
upgrade. But it would have meant learning a whole new interface, and
I decided not to.

NZB support would also be nice, but, again, not quite worth it for
me.

So, while "all that extraneous and confusing crap" might come with
the later versions, so do useful, new features.

And if you look at the headers, you'll see that almost everyone
posting here is running a version with what you feel is extraneous
and confusing crap.

I'm sufficiently happy with 1.93, but I won't condemn anyone else's
choices. Except, perhaps, the choice to snipe at others.

What you probably did differently to make it work was to release the
mouse after first selecting the desk... before performing step 2
above.
