Which matters more, "older" or "latest"? "firmware cd iso" or "F/W
for the Alphaserver 1200"?

My quick Web search found this:

https://ftp.zx.net.nz/pub/archive/ftp.digital.com/pub/DEC/Alpha/firmware/readmes/as1200.html

which included this:

https://ftp.zx.net.nz/pub/archive/ftp.digital.com/pub/DEC/Alpha/firmware/

It looked to me like a faithful reconstruction.

I found this on archive.org, which says it's a collection of older
firmware CDs:

https://archive.org/details/alphafwupcds

No idea if the CDs are complete/usable/unaltered/etc, so be careful.

Be aware the overall archive appears to be a DVD-sized download.

Simon.
