I know it is nearly moribund, but I do check the forum from time to
time, however it now seems seems broken

On the surface it looks okay, but once you log in then it's borked. The forum pages don't load, none of the links work (except the one to CafeExpress merchandise) and you're stuck. Stay logged out and they look okay.

Take a look at https://vmssoftware.com/community/community-license/

VSI can only issue a license for their software, so you would need to
install 8.4-l1 under AXP or I64, or if you go X86-64 you can get 9.2-1
