Hi.

While cleaning up my home office, I found a CD container
(original "Compaq OpenVMS" marked :-) ) with approx. 20 CDs
primarily for the Alpha platform.

These can go into the dump as "Plastic waste", but I thought
I'd ask here first to see if these can be of any interest
to someone.

Shipping cost (1 Kg, world-wide and trackable) is $20 USD.
Say $30 USD total incl. the packing and shipping work.
Paypal is fine.

Anyone interested can mail me on the mail address in this post.

Here is the list of the CDs. Those with xx-xxxxx-xx numbers are
original DEC/Compaq CD's. The rest are home-burned with the
marking text below.

Original DEC or Compaq CDs:

Compaq System Tools, March 2001, AG-RJV3D-RE
OpenVMS Alpha V7.2-1, OS, July 1999, AG-QSBZD-BE

OpenVMS V7.3, Doc, April 2001, AG-QSBYF-BS
OpenVMS V7.3 (Alpha and VAX), LP, April 2001, AG-RF8EB-BS

Me too. I recently stumbled onto a long forgotten tall cabinet containing VAX quarterly updates from 1992 to 2008. I also saw Alpha updates from 2002 to 2008. I'm certain they have zero cash value and doubt anyone will want them. Perhaps not even a museum. :-(

Right... After this good clarification from an usually well informed
source, I might just dump them... :-)

And I can keep the "Compaq OpenVMS" branded CD folder. Not that I ever will
have any CD's to put into it, but anyway... :-)

Jan,

I'm interested in your batch. I'll pay $30US to get them. I see there are a couple I don't have in my inventory (posted in another thread).

Neil,
I'd be interested in the VAX and Alpha updates. How bulky (pretty bulky as I recall) Shipping to Fort Worth, Texas. If you want to chat offline about it let me know.

Do you have Integrity ones? If so, I imagine you still need those though.

OK! Fine.
I removed all CDs from the envelopes, but that can be restored.
We can take it off-line...

No IA64 media (or any IA64 system...).

Shipping from here is flat-rate world-wide outside of Sweden.

I'll ship the original Compqa CD holder (leather imitation, quite nice).

Let's cont off-line...

Jan-Erik.

Nope. Our new rx2800-i2 (in 2015) was purchased from HP but came without optical media. IIRC, the images were delivered by email so we were required to burn our own. That system came with three years of support then we purchased another year of support after that, but I do not recall ever hearing that optical media was available.

That was my other thought, that all binaries were gotten from downloads from the HP (or VSI) software depot sites. The CD/DVD access is a boon to hobbyists because they last nearly forever and they tended to pile up and become available. The software downloads behind paywalls, not so much.

We have connected elsewhere so hopefully something can be worked out to get some of the VAX and Alpha updates.
