I tried the links today, while on VPN, as a test to see if they have a
finite lifetime and to see if they're limited to an IP address, and they
still work.

The app itself that Frank had suggested for Carlos is nice, but I don't see
that it does more than other similar apps already do but I didn't look at
every detail as I was helping Carlos obtain the app Frank had suggested and
not testing the software for functionality (I assumed Frank knew what he was
doing when he suggested them to Carlos).

I don't like the comments:

This app uses tons of background data and will consume mobile data
quickly. It doesn't distinguish between wifi or mobile and will use
either for some data behind the scenes. I have uninstalled it after I
noticed a massive increase in data usage. Keep in mind that some people
also.have limited "wifi" too so this will go quickly through that.

I just want the WiFi speed, not a benchtest of the entire phone.

So, I just put a 1397260368 bytes file on my apache server, and download
it, on the LAN, and time it. I am 1 meter away from the AP. [...] Took
4'14". That's 5501025 Bytes/second. 5.2 MiB/Second, on my upstairs AP
which is not the ISP AP, but a better one. Maybe later I'll repeat the
test downstairs. [...] 4'30" downstairs, that's 4.9 MiB/s.

I don't have all the software (updates) I need. I don't know his exact
needs.

And it is not only about application updates, I want the security
updates to the core system.

I don't care one iota about iOS.

Because my car *demands* that app.

That app connects (via USB in my case) to my car infotainment system,
providing me with GPS and other functionalities. Without that app
working, I don't have GPS or multimedia in my car.

Compared to other brands, no. Specially at that price. So say the reviews.

Problem is, I can buy two or three phones for the same price in that
time period (if one breaks, just buy another). 700 euros (at Amazon) is
way outside of what I can pay. My current phone is in the 200..300 bracket.

So yes, I like it, but...

> There is no "http" anywhere, all are google pages.

Ah, I see! You click on the "inPocket Software" link at the *top* of
the page. I go to the "Developer" section at the very *bottom* of the
page and then click the "Visit website" link.

(If I click on the "inPocket Software" link , I also a "We're sorry, the
requested URL was not found on this server." error.)

You said "And if you click on the developer, it says "not found".", so
I assumed you meant the link in the "Developer" section of the page, not
the link which points to the company. FWIW, I hardly ever - if ever -
click the company link, but just go to the "Visit website" link.

Anyway, problem/confusion solved.
