I've reinstalled Agent 8 on a new PC. When I Get New Headers, the
bodies don't retrieve automatically, they only download when I click
on the message. I'm pretty sure this isn't the way I had it set up
previously, that the Bodies downloaded with the Headers. Is there
something I need to set in Options?

To automatically retrieve bodies for new headers in _all_ newsgroups:

Folder >> Default Properties >> Receiving Messages >> Usenet Messages
[x] Retrieve bodies for all new messages

If you have any binary newsgroups, you might not want to retrieve bodies
for new headers in binary newsgroups. In which case, this might be a
better option:

Folder >> Property Schemes >> "Text Newsgroups" >> Edit >> Receiving Messages >> Usenet Messages
[x] Override default settings
[x] Retrieve bodies for all new messages

Thanks Ralph, I was trying to find it under Options on Menubar ,
didn't think of trying Folder Properties.

I do the same thing as Ralph but have all my text groups in one desk
and all my binaries in another and set the schemes as Ralph describes.

One time I goofed on my permissions for alt.binaries.fonts and got
something like 40000 fonts downloading many in their own separate
folders inside my main download folder and I am STILL a year later
cleaning up the mess. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! :)

There are the default properties and the folder properties. Default
properties are used unless you've created a folder properties item for
a particular usegroup. As discussed in my previous message you will
know which newsgroup now has their own folder properties!
