What exactly was so bad about "The Bourne Ultimatum?" I thought that movie was really good...basically as high-quality as Identity and Supremacy. Those three movies are some of my favorite films. What is the art tradition or lens that rejects Ultimatum so harshly? I thought Legacy and "Jason Bourne" (the fifth one) were much weaker than the first three; Legacy grew on me because I learned to read it as being about mental health, but the fifth one has an appealing portrayal of the new character Heather Lee, but other than that one character addition, the movie adds nothing, puts Jason Bourne in "social networking website business convention" land instead of anything intriguing and appropriate for the character, takes out a lot of the good aspects that were in Bourne 1-3.

I don't have every person's perspective on movie enjoyability, but the harsh critiques of Ultimatum sound like either a personal opinion rather than a professional artist's carefully calculated analysis, or a personal/professional attack against the director based on grudge-related reasons that no one non-famous could likely understand.

I used to consider Matt Damon my favorite actor, largely based on Bourne...Elysium was pretty good and "The Martian" was pretty empty and pointless...and maybe I still should, but I'm getting really used to "ethical catastrophes" that various famous artists will dive into for stupid reasons as part of some "commissioned betrayal ceremony" or something, and becoming suddenly disillusioned with these artists. It doesn't matter that much to me personally, but I've noticed a lot of artists lining up to do "bad deeds" that might be humiliating for reasons that make no sense to me. Oh well...at least I still like art. I considered when I was a teenager and less independent-minded, "What if various music artists found who I was and didn't like me as person? That would upset me." Now, as a more intellectually self-confident and mature adult, I don't really care...I tend to see artists, whether they have heard of me on the internet or not, as often older-than-I-am talented people who are well-known and often covered in the press who lack certain basic life skills (like the idea of having a life plan and "making good choices") and understandings, perhaps not having socialized or been educated in the same way that I did/was, and generally being neat enough for being into art, which I also like, but not role models for me at all. I like art, but the artists I see in public today seem like they are often being exploited and pushed into "playing games" that are dangerous and unwise, like illegal drugs and unwise "competitive celebrity catfights."
