"Linux Mint 21 was given the codename “Vanessa”. It will be based on Ubuntu
22.04 and support 3 editions: Cinnamon, MATE and Xfce.
(...)
Upgrades towards the next major release (...) require an advanced level of
knowledge and experience and they are performed using the command line.
We are working on an upgrade tool which will make this significantly easier in
the future.
Here are its main features compared to the existing upgrade tool:
It’s fully graphical, no command line. (...)
It doesn’t force you to remove your custom repositories and PPAs (it checks
whether or not they support the target release though)
(...)
We’re planning to get this tool ready as soon as possible. It’s our number one
priority in this development cycle. We will be using it for the LMDE 4 -> LMDE 5
upgrade first, and then for the Linux Mint 20.3 -> Linux Mint 21 upgrade.(...)"

Looks good.

What happens when we get to the end of the alphabet? LOL! Luckily they say with "U"s in version 20 and now "V"s in 21. So 25 is the "Z"s
and the end.

Can't wait for the day we'll be finally released from these schoolboy
crush names. As a man I feel highly discriminated, I suggest that they
start 26 boy's names after they're done with Z - just to even things out.

I thought about that, still girl names but ending in 'o' or some other letter just not ending in an 'a'. I'm sure
their minds have given it some thought. It's not a hard future to predict.
