When I copy a newspaper article into latex, occasionally the article has
been updated!

So how can I show the update date both in the bibliography and also in
the outputted bibliography in the printed document, as well as the
original date of publishing, please?

biblatex has an origdate field, for the original date of publication,
but it's not used by the standard styles, so you'd need to write some
code to push it in somewhere. I've never had to do that, so someone else
can probably help.

urldate you know about, for the date you accessed the article.

That leaves the normal date field for the most recent update date.
