I've used bash and dosbox on android successfully, but sometimes they (in
case of bash, different version) choke on special characters (./~[). What is
the generic cause of this, and how do you get around it?

eg DOSBOX on Mathematica ([), zielmicha (github) emacs own bash shell (~./)
