A person at the very end of the thread recommends Revo Uninstaller.

You will notice some of the posts have interesting ideas. One
person uses two machines, to clean up OneDrive on the server end,
then carry out a procedure on the machine-in-question, for removal
of OneDrive. And perhaps Revo Uninstaller can be fitted into the
end of that progression.

But the procedure is not just the removal of an executable on one
machine, because that might leave some content "stranded" on the
server end. The server end is unlikely to really delete everything,
but what you're aiming for, is that the server *interface* no longer
offers access to anything. In the fullness of time, the content
still on the server (hidden somewhere), will get cleared off.

When W11 24H2 arrives, the executable could come back. It might depend
on how you installed 24H2, as to exactly what happens.

Whatever I did on my Win10 machine, I left the Documents / Pictures / Music folders still linked to
onedrive/documents etc. I had to go into the registry and tweak things. But it's been so long I
forgot and took no notes that I can find.

KenW has a point and thus I never did it to my Win 11 machine.

WOOHOO. I found the registry file that fixed everything.
Still...MAKE BACKUPS.

If nothing else, just use this as a template and edit the registry manually. I decoded the MUSIC
entry and it uses %USERPROFILE% so it's generic to any user name. I think I just dumped the whole
'shell folders' folder and there may be more here than needed.

In Windows 11, it can simply be uninstalled, though creating a new
account will reinstall it, as well as other actions. You have to do
check-ups because it doesn't ask and it doesn't UAC.

Quite q
a bit of bad, poor and useless advice in that answers link. The worst
from the so-called 'Independent Advisors'.
- MSFT made these folks use that titling to ensure content was not from
MSFT or MSFT direct contracted personnel.
- i.e. an Independent Advisor is a freelance person or an automated
agent(AI but with a name for tracking and differentiation) contracted or
controlled by a 3rd party company. Very little content, these days in
that forum is MSFT monitored - only a significant issue that bubbles
up(quantity, severity, escalation behind the scenes) reaches to the
company internal personal and most escalation ends up on the Insider Team
before passing on to the real developers'.
- Answers is at the bottom of the totem pole well below Feedback app,
Twitter, Reddit, Techcommunity, AskWoody, ElevenForum and few other
select 3rd party forums.

As far as OneDrive on Windows 11(and supported Windows 10)
- their is only one App, the included app => the app icon is a yellow
folder with a small blue cloud.
- Another OneDrive installable Desktop app(blue cloud only icon, no
yellow folder when installed) available from the MSFT is no longer
supported(last updated in 2019; it was for Win7, 8, 8.1 with support
ending in January 2022. If installed, on use it indicates no longer
supported and incorrectly(for Wi10/11) suggest downloading OneDrive for
Edge or Chrome)
=> if installed on Win11/10 its void of some features in the
Win11/Win10 included app.

The best route to alleviate OneDrive(OD) on Win11 is to use its settings

Task Manager/Startup
- Disable OneDrive.exe

Msft Office
- if Office 2016, 2019, 2021 or M365 Office is installed = toggle off
OneDrive in the Office programs' Options as the default save location, if
not already done.

Open OD
1. Settings (the gear icon) to access 'Sync and backup'
- uncheck(turn off) => Save Photow/videos, uncheck save screenshots,
Pause syncing(battery ane metered mode), File collaboration, Files on
Demand, Limit download/upload rate
2. Settings/Manage Backup
- toggle off Documents, Pictures, Desktop, Music, Videos then Save Changes
3. Settings/Notifications
- toggle off everything
4. Settings/Pause
- Quit OD
Open OD
5. Settings/Sync and Backup/Account
- Unlink OD
6. Don't open OD in the future
