Is there any VNC or anther remote control server|client that could Input
to Android phone from PC keyboard? I've tried "alpha vnc lite" and
"droidVNC-NG", but the former only support English alphabet, and the
latter does not have this feature.

I have no idea what you're asking so my answer, at first, will be general
(given my goal is to help anyone on this newsgroup who really needs help).

You can use scrcpy/sndcpy to display Android screen/sound fully onto a PC.
This gives you full control of Android using the PC keyboard & mouse.

You can also buy a small device that doesn't require a computer that
connects Android to a dumb monitor and to a keyboard and to a mouse.

Both are already deeply described in this newsgroup's own archives
<http://groups.google.com/g/comp.mobile.android>

There are also proprietary solutions, e.g., Microsoft's and Samsungs.

If it's something else you want, you'll need to be more descriptive.
Good luck!

May be what you intended ... get a keyboard with appropriate USB plug
(micro-B/type-C) for your phone, and just plug it in?

A solution too, though carrying a keyboard with phone is not convenient,
and cannot using ctrl+V to paste from other programs.

even easier, use a bluetooth keyboard, some of which can pair to more
than one device (i.e., pc & phone).

In the past, I've used MyPhoneExplorer, a program on Windows and a
companion app on Android.

I think the screen-mirroring is a bit clunky, but it does the job.

However, elsewhere you mentioned that your main PC runs Windows XP and
I doubt that MyPhoneExplorer is compatible with XP. (I looked a bit and
saw no version requirements, so you might have to look further or just
try it.)

You don't want to lug around a keyboard, yet you still want to somehow
connect a keyboard to your phone. Were you expecting to have a keyboard
available wherever you travel with your phone? Where is the keyboard
you want to connect?

To eliminate the inconvenience in toting around a rigid keyboard, you
can get flexible keyboards that roll up for storage (e.g.,
https://www.newegg.com/p/0GA-035U-00181). Some come with a tube into
which you can store the rolled-up keyboard.

Check the following video on how to add both a mouse and keyboard to
your phone. Presumably if you want to use a physical keyboard (instead
of the virtual keyboard on the phone's screen), you also might not to be
dragging your finger across the phone screen as a clumsy mouse pointer.
You might want to also connect a mouse to your phone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC-rN486TvM

2 methods are described. One is using USB cabling from keyboard to
phone. To add more USB devices, like a mouse, use a USB hub. The video
also mentions pairing your keyboard and mouse to your phone using
Bluetooth which means you'll have to get a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
Some combos (keyboard and mouse) have a unifying USB transceiver dongle.
You plug the dongle into the phone's USB port to which you connect your
BT keyboard and BT mouse, so no USB hub is needed. Eith USB hub,
multiple USB ports on host, or using Bluetooth, this is the same setup
you use to wirelessly connect keyboard and mouse to your desktop PC.

Thank you for sharing! I tried MyPhoneExplorer. It is buggy (crashes
upon menu settings, crashes after first syncing, cannot display
non-ascii characters, etc), and slow in displaying phone screen change,
but it does the job basically.

About "cannot display non-ascii characters": Which version did you
use?

The version notes for version 1.8.12 says:

"* full unicode support for all textfields"

It does not specifically say that it can display unicode, but I assume
that if it can accomodate unicode "textfields" - i.e. input - that it
also can display unicode.

Ping 'micky': Do you still use MyPhoneExplorer or/and can you help Lu

That's a great solution. I wish there were more tiny USB keyboards on
the market.

> even easier, use a bluetooth keyboard, some of which can pair to more
> than one device (i.e., pc & phone).

I have one random bluetooth one and one tiny USB one. I find the
bluetooth one is shit with keys getting stuck, going to sleep randomly,
and all the other ways bluetooth sucks. The USB one works fine, but has
fewer keys (and thus characters) than I'd like.

This is the USB one I have, it's a Blackberry device keyboard with a
small circut to convert to USB:

https://www.solder.party/docs/bbq20kbd/

I got it from Tindie, but there are other electronics markets now
selling it.

I also have assmebled, a "Feegle Tiny 40%" (4x12 grid) USB keyboard from
plans at 40percent.club, but I have not yet succeeded in flashing the
software to it, and the blogger / designer there has gone quiet. The 48
keys in about the same space as the 35 from the Blackberry would be so
nice. (The bluetooth one is 66 keys.)

Less compact, but better typing, I have a Palm Pilot folding "dock"
keyboard and a bluetooth adapter for that (also purchased via Tindie,
seller Xinming). It works. The whole assembly is too big for my pocket.
That's about all I'll say about it.

Straight ass full size keyboards plug in and work, too. But that's so
far what _I_ want.

I too don't understand VNC etc. but MyPhoneExplorer is my usual
suggestion for connecting not just a keyboard but the whole computer
to the phone. Not at all sure it works with XP

https://www.fjsoft.at/en/Versions/

Works great if it works.

2) What about a bluetooth keyboard, connected straight to the phone?
They're small.

Maybe my old contact name is not Unicode, but GB2312. The characters in

Thanks. As I replied to Frank Slootweg, it basically works with XP, if I
use its remote control function only.

I'd rather use PC's keyboard, and clipboard function is great.

Yes, when I have more than a few words to text. I love it.

It also enables texting more than one person at once. There is probably
a way to do this on the phone, but a) I don't know how, b) probably
means goign to another screen and when I do that I always wonder if the
first screen will still be there when I go back. Perhaps this is an
abandonment problem from when I was 3 and my parents left me at a gas
station for 3 days**.

>or/and can you help Lu
>Wei?

I tried.

**Just kidding.

I also recently noticed a microphone on the keyboard, and I'm impressed
by how well the phone spells. 100%. If I can remember to put in
punctation, this might become my first choice.
