Given the high profile news about the iphone 12, it's interesting to
note that Apple aren't alone in having released phones that have failed
french RF testing.

All the data are public and can be searched here:
https://data.anfr.fr/explore/dataset/das-telephonie-mobile?sort=modele&refine.conformite_aux_normes=Non+Conforme

There are 51 entries, but eight are retests following attempted fixes
(labelled 'MAJ'). Presumably in software. Looks like pretty much every
manufacturer has had one or more models fail, incl. Samsung (2 models),
Motorola, Sony, Huawei. The worst offenders are Xiaomi and Nokia with
six and five models respectively.

It's notable that it isn't easy to pass as the attempted fixes often
fail as shown by the eight labelled as 'MAJ' yet still 'non conforme':
failed. It sometimes take two goes.

And, I just noticed, that of yesterday the iphone 12 with iOS 17.0.1 is
now compliant:
https://data.anfr.fr/explore/dataset/das-telephonie-mobile?sort=-date_pr%C3%A9l%C3%A8vement&refine.marque=APPLE

Good to know Chris. Thanks for posting useful salient information.

Most of us have Pixels and Samsungs on the Android newsgroup, so it's
good to know only the Samsung NOTE 10 PLUS & Z FLIP are affected.

To add further value, attached is the chart with the current data
(so that people can more easily run a control-F search for their phone).

Chris, you have no respect for the trolls. This will cause them no end
of embarrassment.

Hmm - doesn't look like Apple rectified anything. They did tell ANFR to
test properly.

Skimmed it - you can see on page 25 that it was tested by Cetecom
Advanced in Germany between 23 and 27 Sept. this year and the client is
ANFR (page 1).

So I guess Apple told them to head in and test correctly.

Adults will notice that Alan Browne acted like a child.
The people he's calling trolls commended Chris for what Chris posted.
They even enhanced what Chris posted so as to be more useful to others.

Meanwhile, iKooks like Alan Browne merely acted like vindictive children.
Again.

The fact is that the reason Apple newsgroups are so childish...
... is the iKooks themselves... act like children.

Everyone else acts like an adult.

As was the original test.

Or between iOS 14.7.1 and 17.0.1 Apple implemented a change.

Or the random variability between iphones is such that when picking two
different ones one will pass and the other fails.

(Other than the dates of course).

Possible.

Test method is very instrumental in outcomes. And if you go through the
report you'll see that it is a very involved process with a non-trivial
test setup such that results from different labs would be very unlikely
to yield the same outcome - even at the same facility.
