I am currently writing a(nother) book about compiler construction,
this time focusing on CP/M and the Z80. For the cover art I am
looking for pictures of terminals of the CP/M era, like the ADM 3a
or the VT52, preferrably in frontal perspective.

So does anyone of you happen to have such a terminal and would be
willing to take a photo of it for me to use as cover art? All I
can offer is image credit and maybe some small one-time compensation,
though, because experience suggests that the book will not generate
a lot of royalties.

Perfect would be a terminal with green phosphor and with some code
from the book on the screen (I would send this to you).

The compiler that will be discussed in the book is this one:
http://t3x.org/t3x/index.html#0

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Nils,

I was with you until I got to the part about displaying code. I have a ADM 3a, but it's dead. If it's any help, I could offer you photos (with blank screen) free of charge!

While I don't have any photos, the terminals we used in the '80's with our
Alspa Brand computers (shoebox sized computer w/ 4MHz Z80 and one or two 8"
drives with provision for a hard drive (20MB) later on) were Televideos.

I think we mainly had Televideo 925's, they were green phosphor.

Output for our customers was via a Diablo (630?) Daisy wheel printer.

I have used Cathode on OSX for creating pictures with CP/M stuff on CRT looking screens because I don't have any old terminal anymore.

I have a Televideo 925 and Televideo Personal Terminal both connected to computers capable of running z80 cp/m code
but those would be early 80's timeframe instead of 70's

Thanks! For some reason comp.os.cpm had disappeared from my newsrc,
so I forgot to post this myself.

And then I was wondering already where everybody had gone.
