Haha, that's great. I work at an airport control tower. I only clean
the building, but some of the computer systems that are still up and
running amaze me. There are not only a plethora of Windows XP systems,
but there are also several Windows 95 and NT 4.0 systems, still chugging
along.

Win98 was the Win7 of its day, win3.1 was the Win98 before that, imo.

Target was using Win 3.x on their cash registers not long ago. I don't
shop at Target, so I don't know if they've upgraded or not. The cash
register/computers at K-Mart were always ancient, but I haven't even
seen a K-Mart store in years. Not long ago, Lowes home improvement
store upgraded the registers from the MS-DOS based system that they used.

According to a website, there are only 3 K-Mart stores in the US. The
nearest one to me is about 1000 miles away.

Seems that there are a couple of them in NJ/Brooklyn, NY ... about 440
miles from me. Alternatively, vacation in Miami, 1,200 miles away, just
to check out the local K-mart... LOL.

Our K-Mart closed circa 2018, and I bought a few pairs of shoes, 90 per
cent off... I've finally burned through the last pair. It's
unfortunate, because I really liked those comfortable Thom McAnn shoes.
