I found some more old SCSI hard drives in a box I pulled down from the attic. Before I spend time digging out the SCSI test machine, I though I'd see if anyone had any interest in the following:

Micropolis 4221: 2GB, 3.5-inch half-high, 50-pin narrow SCSI, quantity 2
DFMS S1F 86G9049: 1GB, 3.5-inch half-high, 50-pin narrow SCSI, quantity 2
DSAA-3270 84G3474: 270MB 3.5-inch half-high, 50-pin narrow SCSI, quantity 1
WDS-3160 79F3994: 160MB 3.5-inch full-high, 50-pin narrow SCSI, quantity 1
0661-371 85F0011: 320MB 3.5-inch full-high, 50-pin narrow SCSI, quantity 2

Note that the WDS-3160 and 0661-371 drives were original drives on some 8580 models. If there's no interest, they go into the next electronic e-waste run on July 7, 2021.

WDS-3160 came on Model 8590s as well.

IIRC, the 0661-371 came on 8595s.

I have two -471s, one has suffered the bouncing marble death, definitely
a candidate for disassembly...

I need these about as much as I need a hole in my head. But, depending
on what shipping would be to get them to me, and what you want for them,
I /might/ be interested.

N.B. I'm being a cheapskate and thinking along the lines of would I walk
away from them or take them with me if I was at a swap meet.

I need these about like I need /two/ holes in the head. But I know
someone not too far from me that might be interested in them as parts
for his model 80(s) (et al.).

Those "bongers" were usually fixed with an interposer kit, replacing
that little caterpillar gadget between the card and HDA. We never had
much luck if you didn't have a new interposer.
Usually the only time you did this was to retrieve the data. We
usually chucked the drive after that.
I would take any "Lightning" drives I had apart for the magnets
instead of trying to use them for anything.

IBM came out with a kit that had 3 interposers in it and if you
ordered the card it came with it or you could just order the kit. The
theory is you could try an interposer. if that didn't fix it, throw
the card at it with another interposer. You had a spare if you needed
it for some other scenario.

Usually we just tried the interposer and see if they could get their
data back. AS/400s usually had lightning drives in a mirrored card
book so data wasn't that big a deal but in RS/6000s it could be a
thing.
I played with the "bad drives" but I never trusted them enough to use
them. In that size class I really preferred the 5.25" full high 310m
drive. They never failed. We got them when people upgraded to 857s.
I just left them in the shoe box and cabled them into the back of my
SCSI card.
