- 8 BIT DEVICES USE 50 PIN CABLES. ARRANGED IN 2 ROWS OF 25 PINS. IBM
USED A 60 PIN CONNECTOR FOR THE EXTERNAL PORT ON THE SCSI-1 ADAPTER
BECAUSE THE 60 PIN CONNECTOR WAS ACTUALLY SMALLER AND THE 50 PIN WAS TOO
BIG TO FIT ON THE BACK OF THE ADAPTER.

The 50-way Centronics connector, true. Not the High Density 50 a la MCS-700 "Patriot".
