I have MSoft 365

How do I get rid of the space-gobbling strip on top of the screen?
I have been sent the latest MSoft adjustment...

but the colored strip....

is still there. Why is it there & how can I remove it.

I can kinda see your colored strip here. But it's not clear that
Customize would include complete removal of it. If the strip appeared,
it should have had a bit of crap in it already.

Try opening a document and see if the document Title fills that strip.
Maybe the Quick Access toolbar is somewhere on the left of the Title ?

Thanks Paul,

I fixed it by engaging the "show above the ribbon" in the dropdown
menu at the top. That is I filled it with icons.

If using M365 your version base number should be 2111(i.e. November
2021, aka 16.0)and build 14701.20262.
That 'colored strip' contains the Search, MSA account profile name,
Minimize, Maximize, Close and My Benefits icon - it's called the Title Bar
When the QAT is not 'below the ribbon' then it is squeezed-in to the
left of the Search box(On the Title Bar)
