Alright, I'm reviving an old classic. It was under-appreciated when it
was first released waaaaay back in 2018, but I'm sure it will be a
huge hit this time. Let's all sing along (to the tune of "Rudolph the
Red Nose Reindeer") our favorite song praising the greatest newsgroup
in the land: C.S.I.P.G.Action!

<sniff> Hearing that always brings a tear to my eye. And you all sing
it so well. Oh well, lets get to the games.

Today we're starting with "Zombie Night Terror", which is yours simply
by typing 4 Eqqt fzc 56 aymcv into the usual place. The game's name
should tell you most of what you need to know about its setting and
foes; yup, our brain-eating friends are back. Except this time you
aren't fighting them, you ARE them. You lead the horde in their quest
to find and devour all those tasty humans (gotta catch 'em all!). This
game uses block 'retro graphics', which is usually a turn-off for me,
but in this case I think it fits the game's style quite well. Part
action/platformer, part strategic/puzzler, it's an odd creation that
works surprisingly well. It may not look it, but this is a really cool
game. You want it, honest, and if you're quick enough you may be lucky
enough to get it.

Next we'll follow that up with "Beholder" which, sadly, does not
involve any levitating death orbs of magical destruction. Instead,
this simple-looking Indie game is a side-view stealth game where you,
doing the bidding of a dystopian regime, sneak about planting cameras
and surveilling your neighbors to ensure they aren't up to any
subversive activities... like maybe plugging 6 kppg dpcvg-9r5 d0 into
Steam to get a free game! Like many AAA games, its visuals aren't
triple-A quality, and it's a bit niche in its appeal, but it has solid
gameplay and if you like the genre, you'll almost certainly have fun
with this one.

Alright, I've done my part for the day. I led the newsgroup in a
sing-along and passed out a few games; if that doesn't say "Happy
Holidays" I don't know what will.

Theres' no trailing "i" in the the code. It ends with a 0.

Yeah. I apologize for any extra inconveniences this new method of
embedding the key directly into the text causes. I will be the first
to admit it is sometimes difficult to determine where my blather ends
and the key begins.

It does seem to be working, though maybe the bots are just less
interested this year. The keys seem to stay available longer than if I
just typed out KEY: yadda-12-yadda-34-yadda

As for your keys, I only claimed one so far but I had no issues with
just a simple copy and paste into Steam.

Well, so far, nobody has really complained about the new method or
requested I change back, so I guess I'll stick with it. Trying to find
new ways to work the key into the text without using the words key,
serial, code, etc. (which might clue in the bots) and making the keys
distinctive enough from the rest of my blather adds a bit of
challenge, though.

I'm sure its not foolproof. Doubtlessly there are ways to a code
something that will parse the text to find the key (I can even make a
pretty good guess at how to do it), but its more difficult task for a
script. But if it gives people a few hours more to grab the games,
then great.

There is a part of me that misses the 'old' way, though. It looked so
much cleaner when I could just put everything in a nice list ;-)
