Considering that you're probably needing Cat-3 or better patch cables,
all over the place.

If you need an IBM Cabling System connector, I'd say that eBay, et al.,
would be safe places for second hand equipment. Amazon may have some
things still in distribution channels somewhere. DigiKey / Mouser might
have things.

There are a lot of places.

Yup, pretty light blue flat cables, made personally by Xi Xiping all by
himself.

If you don't want to buy one, for what ever reason, you can easily make one.

The "rolled" / "roll over" is that the wires are opposite as if someone
had done a half barrel role for the other end.

1 -- 8
2 -- 7
3 -- 6
4 -- 5
5 -- 4
6 -- 3
7 -- 2
8 -- 1

They are trivial to make.

I'm confident that you can find a connector that you are satisfied with
if you wanted to do so.

I feel like we have moved from technical problem into some personal
desire getting in way of a solution. So I'm out.

This SIMMplifies things immensely, now that I know what they are called...

This allows _any_ RJ45 cable to be connected to the Model 90 DB25M
serial port. Why the DB25 port? Because serial cables seem to be more
numerous in DE9 [DB9 in common parlance]. This weg, I have the DB9 port
free for other devices....
