Are you any closer to isolating to the guilty application ?

Were you torrenting at the time ?

Watching Youtube vids ?

Surfing a movie-heavy News page ?

Running a DTP suite ? (MSO, LibreOffice, OpenOffice)

Do you keep Task Manager open, so if the
screen freezes, the last Task Manager
Performance Info shows on the screen ?
I would select the Memory item, to get memory
details on the right.

The unfortunate part, is a complete picture of
system state, may require multiple of the tabs
to be showing their Detailed view. Which the GUI
does not offer.

We have the issue with browsers suddenly "leaking" memory.
It's my suspicion DWM has stopped responding to the
browser and the browser chows down on memory.

Paul

Maybe "east-tec erasure"
This has been on when the shutdown happened, but then it's always run
at the ens of the day after everyone leaves.

The torrenting is strictly 24/7.

No.

No, they're shut down overnight.
