Yeah, works fine in my Cygwin bash environment as well. (Cygwin is a
Linux-like - well GNU to be precise - environment under Windows.)

"Cygwin, don't leave - or stay in - house without it!"

Are you assuming sleep counts as 'uptime'? Also don't forget to subtract
time under general anaesthetic. I'm sure in 88 years, there have been some.

he's still breathing, so yes.

that would count as sleep.

he did mention needing a defibrillator a couple of times, which would
reduce it by only a few minutes, which for an hourly tally, can be
ignored.

another question is at what time during the day he was born. someone
born at 12.01am would be ~24 hours older than someone born at 11.59pm,
both having been born on the same day.

Anesthetics, yes, many times, some as long as 6 or 8 hours.

I was born at 6:25 A:M on a small farm on the Saskatchewan prairies.

Plus all the "lost time" when you go into a room, stop, and wonder what
you came here for. Or climb the stairs and stop on the landing wondering
why the hell you're here.

Then you go back downstairs, carry on, until suddenly it hits you why
you went up. So up you go again and get that phone which you left there.
