Do you have Windows freeware to change the Android unique "GSF ID"
(Global Services Framework ID)

I was looking up fingerprinting of computers (mostly wrt cellphones)
*How your computer can be uniquely tracked by its wallpaper*
<https://groups.google.com/g/comp.mobile.android/c/MH2n3cymu6E>

When I realized we're already being tracked by the presumably unique GSF ID:
*Have you tried to CHANGE your unique GSF ID on your device?*
<https://groups.google.com/g/comp.mobile.android/c/Ixl2uMSLADc>

Where the search started with this (rather old?) Windows freeware solution:
*Windows software that changes your otherwise unique GSF ID on your device*
<https://raccoon.onyxbits.de/blog/what-exactly-is-a-gsf-id-where-do-i-get-it-from-and-why-should-i-care-2-12/>

But what worked best was this FOSS Windows freeware using adb & batch files.
*Windows FOSS solution to reset GSF ID on your rooted or non-rooted Android*
<https://amigotechnology.com.au/how-to-reset-your-google-services-framework-android-id/>

Here is an Android 11 before and after screenshot after I ran my tests:
<https://i.postimg.cc/X7ZspnsG/gsfid01.jpg> Easy to change GSF ID

And here are some associated tests creating shortcuts to reset other IDs:
<https://i.postimg.cc/0NhFk5J2/adid01.jpg> Doubletap to Reset AD ID
<https://i.postimg.cc/qq4MPH3W/adid02.jpg> Set doubletap to any Activity
<https://i.postimg.cc/t4YpKqZ2/adid03.jpg> Calling an Intent with a URI
<https://i.postimg.cc/X7vb5j84/adid04.jpg> Calling an Intent with a GUI

This is the Windows software package that I used to make those changes:
c:\archive\editor\android\reset-gsfid\Android 9.0 GSF ID Reset Script 1.1
c:\app\editor\android\reset-gsfid\resetgsfid.bat
c:\menu\editor\android\reset-gsfid.lnk
<https://1drv.ms/u/s!AnEUQ3JuzW_hgy-GMvGSCXPacpmh>
Name: Android 9.0 GSF ID Reset Script 1.1.zip
Size: 844272 bytes (824 KiB)
SHA256: 5186F4F1C42D38095A0A810EAE680A4B5E75466D111C680B86AFA0DAF1F0C13C

That zip file contains FOSS executables, dlls, and batch scripts that will
force your rooted or non-rooted Android device to allocate a new Google
Services Framework ID & Android ID (I tested these only once, and they
worked on my Android 11 non-rooted phone, but they only changed the GSF ID &
not the Android ID).

Presumably were I to be rooted, the Android ID would also have been changed.

1. Go to your Windows 8 or Windows 10 PC and click here to download our
"Android 9.0 GSF ID Reset Script" package.
<https://1drv.ms/u/s!AnEUQ3JuzW_hgy-GMvGSCXPacpmh>
2. We recommend saving this file to your Windows "Downloads" folder,
but any folder will work.
3. Once you have downloaded it to your Windows PC, open your Windows
file explorer and navigate to the folder that you saved it to.
4. On Windows, right click on the file, and click on "Extract All"
and then click "Extract".
5. A new window should appear with the extracted files.
6. On Windows, run "1 - Test USB Connection.bat".
If you receive a "Windows Smartscreen" warning, click on "More info"
and select "Run anyway".
7. A new window will appear with green text.
Pay close attention to prompts to ensure you have a working connection.
8. You may need to change settings and run the test multiple times
to get things working properly.
9. Once your Android device has passed the connection tests,
run "2 - Reset GSF ID.bat" and follow the prompts.
10. The Windows scripts run successfully with your Android device.
Please contact us if you run into any trouble.

Here are my results, tested on a Samsung A32-5G using Windows 10.

Everything I post to Usenet is intended to be added value for others to
benefit from in the permanent record (in this case, on the archived ng):
<http://groups.google.com/g/alt.comp.microsoft.windows)

Every morning I've been running this Windows freeware to reset the
supposedly permanent Android Google Services Framework GSF ID.

It works fine - but - it resets a bunch of privacy settings to the Android
default that I then need to set back to what I want them to be.

I'm not much of a coder so if anyone else happens to be testing this
solution out, below are two of the key scripts that I need to look at to
see if they can be modified somewhat to _not_ reset to Android defaults.

Here are descriptions of the relevant Windows files found in that download.
