Hi All,

Seems to me the only difference between W11 and
W10 is that M$ STOLE Chromebook's interface.
(And bragged about how "innovative" they were.)
Everything else seems the same, except for
some window dressing in settings. Patches
are even labeled 10.

Anyone know if W11's OEM key will work on W10?

There's no reason that should work. MSDM keys
(started with Win8) were only supposed to activate
one OS. It was the "Free Upgrade" offer that allowed
other things to happen.

But on the other hand, slapping in an empty
drive, installing matching W10, check and see
if it activates, that's not going to cost you
anything other than the time to try it.

Since the only option would be Clean Installing W10
in this case, it's going to be a lot of work for you,
to put the customers programs and customer data back
on the W10 volume.

Doing the clean W10 install and checking for activation,
is the smaller part of the whole process. If that much
doesn't work, you can stop right there.

It is a clean install. Gigabyte does not support
W11 on the motherboard I am using. But, their
Server 2019 drivers seem to work, so I have some
fussing to do.
Gigabyte's tech support is HORRIBLE.
But their boards are very well done.

Don't feel like having to buy another W10 key,
if it does not work.

Dunno, but I have Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11 Pro on partitions on a
separate hard drive.
Windows 10 has a product key & is activated.
Windows 11 was installed as an experiment, without a product key, to see if
it would work on this non-compliant hardware. Within 3 days it had self
activated.

Unlikely.
At one time OEM Licensing for pre-installed o/s on specific OEM devices
permitted reversion to an earlier Pro o/s from a later Pro o/s(e.g. Dell
8.1 Pro to Win 7 Pro).
- in the case of the above if Dell Branded Win 7 Pro media was used
then Win7 Pro would auto-activate, if retail media Win7 pro retail
product key entry was necessary to activate.

Revert to an earlier o/s ceased with Win 8.1 and was only possible with
the earlier media provided by the same OEM source as the device.

Thus activation for using a later o/s key to activate an earlier o/s was
never on the table unless the specific OEM licensing reversion
conditions were met.

I was afraid of that. Worst case I have to purchase
another W10 oem license.

You could try activating Windows 10 with an old Windows 7 key. Some say
that it still works.
