I'm a Linux kook. Got a Macbook Air at a Black Friday price because I
wanted my first laptop, and it was about time to experience what a Mac
is. And I wanted that M1 chip. And I had hundreds in Best Buy Rewards to
spend, on something, before they expired. The hardware is pretty good.
Mac OS is pretty good. The Ryzen desktop with Manjaro Linux and KDE
Plasma is still the best.

For some definitions of "best", sure. macOS has its own strengths. Use

Arlen seems to think he knows who I am, repeatedly claiming I supposedly
dropped out of high school, failed a GED test three times, and never
went to college (all laughable). He also doesn't know that I have worked
professionally in the software development and silicon design fields for
over two decades, and am paid well as a systems architect, where I work
regularly with and write enterprise software Linux servers as well as
Windows and macOS systems. ; ) Arlen can't fathom that people who are
knowledgable about technology would use Apple products. His strange,
little Apple hate boner precludes any such notion. He lives in a tiny,
dirty, little Apple hate bubble. It's sad.

Yeah, he does that in the Apple newsgroups, too. And when someone
inevitably comments that they can accomplish the same goal more
elegantly and with much less effort, he reacts by slinging insults and
making up bullshit reasons his way is supposedly so much better. He
doesn't fool anyone who knows better, but that doesn't stop him from
repeating himself over, and over, and over again - he lives to read his
own words.
