I would say if 'sudo apt autoremove' does not remove anything then all those things are part of a dependency from other
programs. I see the same thing here. My view is, it's so little space and I have 500gb of drive and only use 31g. So
why bother.

I'm sure some more astute than me might give you a way to see dependencies.
I went the similar route on a font I wanted to remove. I did and it remove xed (the default text editor). Wow. So I
install xed and sure enough, the font was installed too. So it was a dependency. I read up why, and I would never use
it, but it's still there all the same.

A big difference between a font and data servers. I ran into the same
question a while back, when I was looking for personal information
managers. I found that Evolution caused to many unwanted behaviors, and
so I started to uninstall some of the components. I still have many that
I ignore. I finally settled with KOrganizer.

I'm looking for a possible replacement for Thunderbird. I'm no fan of version 115. Evolution looked okay, but I'm
still looking.

That's how it looked to me, you want the email, but your going to get
the whole complex package and all the dependencies. They should rename
it Evolution Suite, it tries  to do too many things.
