Hi there,

I posted this on Linux mint forums, now I'm posting here hoping for some
help.

I bought a wifi usb adapter, to replace my old one that always worked
without installing any driver... But this new one, once plugged in, it's
not recognized by the OS (Mint 21.2 Cinnamon). I have a CD with drivers
for multiple OS, the Linux driver is in a zip file named
RTL88x2BU_WiFi_linux_v5.3.1_27678.20180430_COEX20180427-5959
I extracted the files to a folder (screenshot here:
https://ibb.co/PDf2BVZ ) and ran the install.sh file from the terminal
with ./install.sh
The process completed with apparently no errors, but still the usb
adapter it's not working. What can I do?

Have you 'replugged' the USB since your install? R&R.

What does lsusb say?

What does inxi -Nnxx (a hw/info script installed by default in LM) say?

Solved with this:

sudo apt install git dkms
git clone https://github.com/cilynx/rtl88x2bu.git
sudo dkms add ./rtl88x2bu
sudo dkms install rtl88x2bu/5.8.7.1
