In a recent thread a powershell command was suggested.
I don't often run powershell but every time I do, it complains.

Is going to all that trouble of "installing the new powershell"
worth the effort or is the new ps no better than the old one?

My assumption is that if the new powershell was really better then why
wouldn't Microsoft just make the new the default powershell then?

Like they did with Edge over IE.
And like they did with the chrome Edge over the old Edge.

Right?
Or, am I missing something?

Just looked. It says "Install PowerShell on Windows, Linux, and macOS."
What other platforms were you looking for?

Someone already confirmed the syntax is different and the default old
powershell on Windows 10 is the same as the default one on Windows 11.

It is interesting that Microsoft writes a shell for all those systems.
If it gets traction it would be a good move for them.
