places that have discussions going regarding windows 10 LTSC (and the
upcoming w11 release)? The sub for LTSC is likely going to be going dark
forever, and I don't know where else discussion for this version might
be happening.

Isn't LTSC only applicable to Win10 Enterprise edition (maybe also
Education), not Home or Pro?

It is, but it is more or less, the only official 'decrapified' windows
distro. No tracking, no bloat, no 'feature updates' which can (and have)
been detrimental to users in the past.

I've been running LTSC 2018, build 1809 for the past few years with zero
problem. I haven't bothered nor had reason to upgrade to the 2021 LTSC
yet though. I need to take an image of my OS before I do that

LTSC = Long-Term Servicing Channel

Yep, only with the Enterprise edition.

It is intended for devices that should never change functionality, like
medical devices, or embedded systems where users are not supposed to get
at the OS except for sysadmin folk, instead of user workstations that
get features updates and security fixes.

When LTSC support ends, the customer is expected to replace the entire
pre-built or customized device rather than update its OS.

As you said, here is as good a place in Usenet to discuss the LTSC
edition; however, since many features are stripped from it, and because
very few users here use it or even heard of it, there won't be much
audience here with experience with LTSC. It's feature set is locked
(with 3-year updates), so it won't have the feature set users here would
expect when trying to help.

Not even Microsoft's Answer web-based forums have one explicitly just
for LTSC. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows, LTSC is not
listed in the drop-down Versions list. Searching on "ltsc" there finds
articles all over under the Windows category.

The OP's complete description of his non-descript problem at Reddit.com
is a "turn for the worse". Uh huh, very detailed ... not! When I went
there, and click inside their Search field (to hunt down an LTSC forum),
the page goes blank. I disabled all uBlock Origin's blocking, but the
page still went blank when I click inside its Search field. Maybe
that's the "for the worse" the OP complains about, or something else.
Could be a glitch in their scripting, like a Javascript on-click event
to where it points, but I would expect the problem to get addressed in a
day, or so. The site still exists, but some web dev fucked up there.

I would think some forum there would have a direct URL instead of having
to search for it, but I don't have that URL, and I'm not wasting time at
Reddit to drill around hunting for an LTSC group. I found no link there
to report problems with their web site, just a link to a /help/
community (another forum/group).

Since most smartphone apps are web-centric clients (you use the app
instead of a full-blown web browser), maybe the OP should see if s/he
can use their Reddit app. Maybe that web access method does not suffer
the "turn for the worse" problem. Or s/he could wait a day to see if
the whatever is the problem gets corrected.

Did you register the noreply.com domain? If it isn't yours, and the
actual owner doesn't grant public use of their domain. you don't have
permission to use it in your Usenet nym.

I.e. the primary resistance is about advertising rather than forums not
being accessible/scrapped/etc.
Reddit doesn’t want the user to avoid the ads with another client, or
have Devs sell ads on their own apps while serving Reddit content.

Nor is AI at the heart of the issue(a digression discussion also being
opined on the same subject)
e.g. if the content is open for AI to crawl it’s open for competing
clients to serve as well.

In short,
The developers/moderators are getting caught in the mix...and looking
forward, some of the Reddit position is likely in preparation for their
planned/upcoming public offering where control of ad revenue streams
would be beneficial.

This is not an Oracle situation. The users will just
run away if you hammer them. The writing was on the
wall, some weeks ago, that a hammer-enthusiast
is now running the place.

And to get a glimpse at how much money is involved, just look at some of
the fines levied by some nations, and the EU in particular, that don't
even seem to faze these people. Just a cost of doing business.

You can't hammer your way to an IPO.
It doesn't work that way.

Look at Canonical as an example. Slow but steady
wins the race. Canonical doesn't have enough of a
business story to race to IPO, so they have to build an
attractive business plan to convince investors
there is meat on the bones.

Sure, Reddit has a "population" which is the "product",
but if you scare them away with your hammer, you've
got nothing. If instead, you'd built up advertising,
and been a bit more subtle (the frog boiling algo),
maybe you could start an IPO two to five years from now.
But just storming in with hobnail boots and yelling
"Stand And Deliver" into the room, the Redditors
will conclude "I have to wash my hair tonight" and
they're gone.

I was reading a few comments earlier, where Redditors
were deleting accounts. And what investors like to see,
is a Twiddler-style Dumpster Fire. That really attracts
the investors.
